tosberg34
I plan on installing and giving initial review after church tonight. Cool. I've been interested to see how far they've come along on this. Thinking about pulling the trigger myself.

buddahj
? It's a device that you can use to stream movies & stuff to your tv from the internet.
detlef
Very handy for more than just movies. When I ditched my CD collection and started streaming my itunes via an airport express to my stereo, I lamented that I couldn't play pandora through the house without hardwiring the computer to my stereo. Of course, besides running a long assed cable, I'd also be broadcasting every sound the computer made, which would be sort of bootleg. Now that we have a roku, I can play pandora on the TV, so I just have an audio out to my stereo and can play it everywhere in the house. Very cool. But, yes, the movies are cool and there's a couple of channels that play free movies with minimal commercial interuption. Like, one 30 second spot every 20-30 minutes, so no biggie. Mind you, they're not current release movies, but you'll find a decent one on there from time to time. Ultimately, we ditched Netflix for Amazon Instant movie and are just paying per show. CaP'N GRuNGe
Most TVs and BluRay players having the audio and video streaming built in to them these days. I could see getting one for the bedroom for netflix.
polksalet
Seems OK but really nothing that my old XBOX 360 doesn't do.

We bought one becaus we don't have a game system and both our TV and DVD player worked fine but weren't new enough to be internet-ready. Because I'm a moron and didn't understand the Roku's capabilities. I'm taking it back today.
