e5volcano
Just read on ESPN that White had soreness around his groin and was limited in practice. No word on missing the game Hopefully he gets to play, as I have him starting and I need at least 1 TD from him!
delusions of grandeur
Ah yes, edition #345 of me reassuring people that Roddy never practices if he's in the least bit banged up, but almost always plays and plays well. He and Ryan have been in a rhythm with each other for years, so as usual, it's likely they just want to take precaution over needless risk. (Oh and he should be a good start too, because after CB Grimes is out for the year and the running game has been awful, the only way the Falcons are winning this game against Peyton is by airing it out). Scorcher
Do you think Bailey will be on Julio?
e5volcano
Does it matter? Broncos have Porter as the other CB and he looked good against Steelers Edited September 13, 2012 by e5volcano
delusions of grandeur
Do you think Bailey will be on Julio? Probably more a question for Bronco homers, because I have a couple questions myself. Does Bailey normally shadow recievers or does he just cover the right side? Because I swear that most of my memories of Bailey are covering that side.... IIRC, Julio lines up to the left with Roddy on the right a good bit of the time. Also, it didn't look like Bailey's speed was an issue for him making plays the other night, but does he still have enough to keep up with Julio at the tail-end of his career? As the post above said, I'm not sure it matters that much. The duo of Bailey/Porter are looking very formidable, but I'm not sure there's a man alive who can stop Julio Jones. Scorcher
Steelers WR's aren't the Falcons!
delusions of grandeur
Not to give away too much paid content, but the Huddle thinks that Roddy may see coverage from Bailey, but that they'll likely rotate WRs around. I haven't really been paying that much attention to which side they line up on, so that may well be the case, as Koeter adds a little creativity to the offense, but I do think that the left and right are still where you usually see Julio/Roddy under ideal circumstances. Bailey on Roddy maybe worries me a little more, because Roddy has had most of his success with great route-running and him and Ryan being able to anticipate one another so well.... That might well be something that Champ or even Porter can disrupt. Edited September 13, 2012 by delusions of grandeur
e5volcano
Well judging by my roster and my bench WR's matchups, i will still start White. Only decker Or stevie johnson can take it
millerx
Just FWIW, Ryan use to school Porter when he was a Saint. He picked on him continuously with success.

Very good point, and that's definitely backed up by this from PFW: "Jones had 8-128-1 receiving and White had 11-127-0 receiving against Porter and the Saints in Week 16 last season"

e5volcano
Update per ESPN White (groin) was a limited practice participant Friday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Spin:White has a Monday game this week, so the fact that he has two limited practices logged heading into Saturday is a good sign regarding his Monday night availability. 3rd and schlong
Mike Wallace is no where near the route runner nor does he have the physical size that Julio possesses. Roddy White is an amazing possession WR, and while Antonio Brown is a very skilled player, i'd still take Roddy over him any day.

delusions of grandeur
Interesting fact: Last time Roddy went up against Champ was in Ryan's rookie year in '08, and he put up 5 catches for 102 yards. Of course he didn't have TDs and maybe saw less coverage because Turner ran the show and vultured all the TDs back then (he ran in both of the scores in that game). I'd say this situation is pretty similar if not better coverage-wise, but with Roddy having a better opportunity to find the endzone.
