DanTheMan_5
Per Chris Mortensen. What does this mean for Gordon & Welker? It means Gordons on the phone lobbying for it to be approved so he can play. IMO, he's probably gonna get at least 8 games.
gardenthug
I was under the impression that if the limits were retroactively raised, Gordon would no longer have a failed test and would receive no suspension(until his DUI hits the courts). lennykravitz2004
I was under the impression that if the limits were retroactively raised, Gordon would no longer have a failed test and would receive no suspension(until his DUI hits the courts). This is what I recall reading. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11491428/nfl-players-association-vote-revised-drug-policy One late sticking point is that the league has received complaints and concerns from owners regarding possible reinstatement for recently suspended players such as Josh Gordon of the Cleveland Browns and Wes Welker of the Denver Broncos, who would not have been suspended under the proposed policy. Those owners were displeased that a new agreement would not necessarily alter the standing of their own suspended players. stevegrab
I don't think they should be applying new testing limits to players retroactively, rules are rules, they were what they were when those guys broke them. Retroactively applying new rules can be a 2 way street. Will they take samples from players used for drug testing in the past and test for HGH now? Will they repeal (and repay lost wages) suspensions of all players from the past applying the new rules. Some sports guy in Cleveland made it sound like Gordon could be cleared to play this weekend, I'm still having a hard time believing that.
