Auction league statagy

Do you bid a lot of two tier 1 players and leave very little left for the rest of your team, or go after tier two and three players and leave a lot of money for a solid team.

Depends on the setup of the league. Large leagues/small starting lineups I'll go for the Tier 1's and fill in roster with $1 chances. Leagues with bigger starting lineups I'll look to go more depth.

I'm sure its still on here somewhere as well, but there's a budget template that the Huddle had posted that I've used every year for some time now. I'll make roughly 5 different budgets and depending on how things go early with acquisitions, I have a plan going.

Found it here

I just copied the table out of the article into a excel sheet and modified it as needed for my league.

I did a couple auctions this year, my first year auctioning. I went with conservative spending the first one and ended up with a decent team and 30 dollars left over. Decided to do one more auction and blew the budget early.

I ended up with Julio,OBJ, Big Ben, Alshon Jeffrey, Fleener, and Arizona defense. The rest was tier 2 or 3.

I have played in two different auction leagues. Years ago when I was playing in Cowboys & Indians I had quite a bit of success letting the other owners spend top dollar on the highly valued players and using my money to build a solid team top to bottom without any of the top players.

In CORE I have had moderate success buying some premium players.

However, the leagues had some significant differences, primarily in the dynasty implications.
