Curtis Martin, NFL Rushing Champ

When this year started, Martin said he'd rush for over 1500 and have 2000 combined yards. He ended with 1697 rushing and 1942 total, just 58 yards shy of a combined 2000 yards. 14 Td's total. He is also one of the classiest guys in the NFL, the consumate team player. He desrves to finally win a title, after the past ten years of consistancy he demonstrated, getting at least 1000 yards/year for ten on a row.

I found it odd that instead of a Martin thread, there was a S Alexander thread instead, whining about how he was robbed of the title. I guess NFL fans really do prefer selfish loud mouths over quiet non-self promoting team players like Martin. With a playoff game coming next week, SA says his coach stabbed him in the back? No, SA just stabbed his own team in the back, something you would never see Curtis do. And SA's "fans" are up in arms. This was a case where the good guy won, if only by one yard.

So, kudos the CuMar, the guy everyone said to dump while his value was high, the RB that was too old to produce for a 16 game season. With 4 and a half minutes left, I'm sure Holgren thought SA would get more touches, but he was wrong, and I'd like to shake his hand, he helped the good guy come out on top! This was most likely Martin's last shot at the rushing title, and he is deserving..... SA will have more chances, maybe the next time he decides not to fight for another yard, he will remember all this, but I doubt it.

Curtis Martin, 2004 NFL Rushing Title. Has a nice ring to it! :D
