sacosud
Herbstriet on local radio station 1460 the fan has said due to Wash. St. loss Rose Bowl is considering a rematch of "THE GAME" would be great for the BIG TEN think of all the MONEY this would make in merchandise sales and forget about having to worry about not selling this one out. I Hope it happens but I think the rest of the Nation might see this as just a money maker any thoughts??? probaly need a LSU loss.
Chavez
Usually bowls bend over backwards to NOT have rematches of reg season games. I seriously doubt that it would happen. And, personally, as much of a Big Ten fan as I am, I hope it doesn't.
go-time
I was at THE GAME yesterday and am a life-long Buckeye and Big10 fan. All I can tell you is I hope they don't or at least one of the teams is wise enough to decline. We are an above-average team this year that gets the most (through luck, willpower or motivation - you decide) out of only decent talent. As hard as it is for me to admit it, Michigan kicked our a$$ in every phase of the game, exposing our defense, nonexistant running game and average special teams (did you see Jenkins catch that one on his own 5?). The lone bright spot was our decent passing attack. It's hard to beat a team twice in a year, but dam I couldn't take another loss to "that team up North" this season. Plus I think it would dilute the value of our annual rivalry (where there are no 2nd chances until next year). I think its better to play the string out against some other team (probably in Orlando/Tampa) and recruit/prepare for next year. Doing any rematch game (I've heard Miami in Orange and Michigan in Rose both already) is just letting a bowl use our huge alumni/fan base to make money at the expense of our record and recruiting ability. Let Michigan enjoy their well deserved victory and just prepare to kick their but next year.
teamprimos
as much as i would love another shot at the team up north i hope both teams could play a team from the big twelve but that wont happen either cause theres not another team in big twelve to get that close for a bsc bowl. coxxy rules go buckeyes forever! What an idiot ... there will most likely be 2 teams from the BIG 12 in the BCS this year. Oklahoma will be in for sure. Kansas State & Texas still have shots at making it as well. davearm
I'd hate to see a Michigan vs. OSU rematch. That's the greatest rivalry in college football, and is only played once a year: at high noon on the last day of the regular season, either in the Horseshoe or the Big House. Period. It's OK though, that is never gonna happen anyway. I am pleased that a Big Ten team will be back at the Rose, as it should be. Last year was bogus when Iowa wanted to play in the Rose but was forced to go to the Orange (and play a Pac Ten team no less, how dumb). I'd love to see at least one Big Ten team face off against a Big 12 team (KSU or Texas) in a BCS game. Ideally, Michigan gets USC in the Rose in the traditional Big Ten/Pac Ten showdown, and OSU can match up with a Texas or KState. Admittedly I'm not even sure that's a viable scenario. davearm
I just looked to see what ESPN is projecting at this point for the BCS matchups... Nokia Sugar Bowl: Oklahoma (Big 12 champ) vs. USC (Pac-10 champ) Tostitos Fiesta Bowl: LSU (SEC champ) vs. Florida State (ACC champ) Rose Bowl: Michigan (Big Ten champ) vs. Texas (at-large) FedEx Orange Bowl: Miami (Big East champ) vs. Ohio State (at-large) Both the Rose and the Orange would be intriguing matchups for the Big Ten representatives. I'm sure the blowhards around here will predict big blowouts but I think both would be very exciting games. And USC taking on OU probably gives us the most appealing Sugar Bowl. OSU fans just saw a team kick the snot out of them. They are smart enough to not wish for Michigan again. They'd do anything to get to play a Big East team who will come into the game with more loses than they do. Oh how I hope USC and LSU loses so OU can play the best of the Big 10 - Michigan. Then Texas vs OSU. These 2 games right here would destroy national recruiting in the Big 10 for the next decade.
