Vet
Ever since I can remember, the Jets have ALWAYS played the Giants in Week 3 of the preseason and have ALWAYS played the Eagles in Week 4. I'm assuming this is a matter of convenience (travel distance) more than anything else. It got me wondering though, do all teams schedule their preseason games this way? What preseason matchups does your team schedule year after year after year? (Thank God preseason is almost over!)
Big John
It used to be that the indidual teams scheduled the pre-season games. But the NFL now schedules the pre-season games as a part of the realignment agreemant. Apparently, they had held on to some of those matchups from the past as you has mentioned. Piranha
A couple of years ago when Cleveland was 'without team', Buffalo invited the dawg pound to ralph wilson for a game.
gilthorp
From way back, up until recently, the Cardinals and the Bears would play every pre-season.
