Return Of S&B
Sebastian Janikowski made field goals of 50, 51 and 24 yards... I know he's just a kicker but I've never seen Jano have a game like this...earlier in Training Camp there were stories of how Shell would make the whole team run laps everytime Sebastian missed a field goal...maybe this got to his head and he'll actually focus this year. One field goal was missed though, but that was due to a bad snap.

Return Of S&B
Was it me, or did that NBC coverage seem disjointed...guess I'm just not used to Bob Costas running his mouth all the time and being on the same channel as Madden and Michaels...very strange Edited August 7, 2006 by Return Of S&B
DMD
Janikowski has ranked 21, 13 and 27 in the NFL for total points in the last three years. He hasn't been a decent fantasy kicker for four years and only once (2002) did he have true fantasy relevance when he ended 6th as an average starting kicker. I am aware of this, that is why I stated I had never seen him kick like this. I'm obviously a homer and but I havent drafted him to be on my fantasy squads since 2002 (32 more homer league the only exception). I was attributing the good showing to possibly the added pressure Shell has put on him during practice. Yes its only one game, but if his performance continues to improve he could be a good fantasy kicker once again. DMD
He has the leg, he just needs the accuracy and more importantly - the opportunity.
flemingd
He also looks slimmer. Not slimmer like in shape or skinny, slimmer as in less like a sausage-in-a-casing than past years.
MustOfBeenDrunk
he looked as though they spent a 1st round pick on him
DemonKnight
How about Akers 55 yard bomber . A will be drafting him again this year. Good value after last years injury.
Savage Beatings
Just confirms that there is no need to waste an early pick on the #1 Kicker. Plenty of talented depth at this position. While someone else is drafting Viniateri, you can pick up your backup QB, leaving the rest of your league to fight over Alex Smith.
