Rockerbraves
Been said that Florida started off the week in Vegas as the favorite, but bucket loads were wagered on the Tigers early making them now a 2 point favorite over the Gators. Seems strange that a 5th ranked team would be an underdog at home to anyone much less a team ranked behind them. What gives here?
GWPFFL BrianW
LSU is the better team? LSU should beat Florida on any field, but who knows. My guess is it might end up being a pick'em Edited October 4, 2006 by GWPFFL BrianW
Rockerbraves
looks like the game has Florida the slight favorite now. That makes more sense?
sacosud
I love LSU in this game. I think they win by at least 10. LSU 21 Fla 10 Leak is going to get killed in this game. Memo to LSU if Tebow gets in the game HE'S GONNA RUN!!!!! What time is this game on. I have to go to a kid's halloween party at 5:30 est...5:30???? You know this was some woman's time. The 3:30 games will be at the half or 3rd quarter and party over at around 8pm just in time for the drive home and miss the first half of the primetime games. I'm going to run straight to the tv and let the wife deal with the halloween crap. Oct 7th little friggin early for a halloween party don't you think. My home and car got killed in a HAIL STORM in Ohio for god's sake, so I'll be dealling with that all day as well. You would think for the 1,000.00 plus deductible I would get some friggin time to enjoy football right????? NO, I have to spend the day taping up windows and holes in my siding!!!!! I have not been brave enough to get on the roof till tomorrow. I'm sure glad I sold a friggin house last week. Ohio hail storm are you kidding me...I can't even remember ever seeing hail that big. I apologise for venting and maybe I love football to much my mind should be on more important stuff!!!! NAHHHHHH...right where it belongs. I love college football and ALL football. I love watching all of college football teams and tommorrow is going to be a hard pill to swallow missing all the great games!!!! Thank God for DVR. Now you know how we felt down in South LA. last year. No electicity, no football....it took us a month to finish our FF draft online...we didn't start until week 3..... Boy I hope you are right about the Tigers.....
untateve
I'm not sure who will win. Florida has been starting slow and giving up passing yards, although they have given up few points. The defense shut down tenn pretty effectively and alabama didn't score an offensive td. However, this is only meyer's second year at Florida and I'm relatively certain he doesn't have the type of players he wants at every position (e.g., tebow is the type of qb to run his offense, not leak). The homefield advantage, if Florida could jump out early, could be huge. This stadium is really loud and right up on the field, not set back. LSU plays more night games, when it's cool, and the Swamp is really hot. For Florida, they had a big, emotional game against tenn. They had a big, emotional game against alabama. Now, they have a big, emotional game against LSU. Are they able to keep it going or will they come out flat? If I were betting, and I'm not, I'd take Florida by three in a low scoring game. Flip_Side
a win should put them at #3 Yeah, Auburn lost so that would move USC to #2 and Gators to #3. Edited October 7, 2006 by Flip_Side

Rockerbraves
I hate to say this, I'm a Big LSU fan...but the facts are: They are Overratted.... Overrated...perhaps. However the two games they lost were games that most people (not LSU fans) thought they would at the beginning of the season.

Then why did most people have them ranked in the top 10 if they knew they would lose those games.
Rockerbraves
Then why did most people have them ranked in the top 10 if they knew they would lose those games. They didn't know they were lose but the two they lost on the road were teams ranked as high or higher than them. It is strange how an underdog can lose ground in the rankings when they play a tight game against a higher ranked team. FYI: If you look at today's rankings you'll see LSU is still ranked in the top 15 with two losses. Pollsters are still giving the Tigers some respect. neilfish2
But, does Florida deserves to be #2... NO.....I really think LSU beat themselves. Muff punt when no one was around him....Fumble on the 1" line.....muff kickoff...the score should have been 21-0 at half, if they don't make those bone head mis cues. Maybe give USC #2 until the BCS rankings come out, even thought I hate them....

Gators beat the #9 team in the nation LSU 23-10 at home while the Trojans were nearly upset at home by the non ranked Washington Huskies. Hmmm...that doesn't sound fair. untateve
This my general theory...not just because the Gators were the recepient of LSU miscues. Good teams have good luck, bad teams have bad luck. To a large degree, teams make their own luck. Good teams do the right things, they're in the right place, at the right time. I coach soccer. Sometimes, a left wing on a team will cross the ball in front of the opposing goal and there is no one there to stuff it in. Coaches or parents will say things like, "Oh, that team was lucky our striker wasn't there or we'd have scored." or "Oh, bad luck, when he shot it was just off the mark." A good team has a striker in position and jams that ball home--a bad team makes excuses and blames luck. LSU fumbled a couple of times--Florida recovered. Good teams = good luck. Last year, LSU had 5 turnovers and won the game. Have the Gators been lucky this year? Yep. I hope they keep being lucky. They are in the middle of a tough schedule and I'll take all the good luck they earn.
GWPFFL BrianW
Yep, no need to apologize for other teams miscues. I certainly don't when Iowa is playing. Wins are wins, losses are losses, asswhoopings are asswhoopings. Occasionally you got a blatant screwjob in there, but there is no changing the result.
