Wolv
Came across an issue in which a team not in the Super Bowl picked up a defense that a Super Bowl contender wanted. In general, etiquette suggests that only playoff contenders get to pick off the WW. But if there's a weekly $$ prize for high points this becomes an issue. Only thing I can think of is to scrap the high points prize come playoffs, although its nice to still play for something when you don't make playoffs. How do you guys handle it in similar situations? Big John
If other teams are still playing for something or are in a keeper/dynasty, then they are still allowed to use waivers. If they have nothing then they are out.
theeohiostate
In redraft leagues i do not allow any team other then ones still in the main playoffs to aquire FA's. This includes owners participating in the toilet bowl or week 17 high score. In keepers or dynasty, they should be able to pick up regardless of the situation. i_am_the_swammi
We cease WW transactions at the start of our playoffs for all teams. We felt it would be unfair if one of the two teams playing for the title were able to find a gem on the waiver wire that affected the outcome of the big game. Your dilema is just another valid reason. We wanted to model our league as closely to the NFL as possible. Since playoff rosters are locked for the NFL, we locked ours, too. It just doesn't seem fair that, after 15 weeks of battling with a great team, someone else can snag a difference-maker and have it affect the outcome of an entire season.
