peepinmofo
Someone said that... What do you think of the selection?
muck
Chief Dick was at Chez Muck, and his comment was, "F _ _ _!" I was surprised. However, if both Joe Staley and Dwayne Bowe are Pro Bowlers, I would think that a Pro Bowl offensive tackle would have been more helpful. So, as far as I'm concerned, my comment is
Chief Dick
Someone said that... What do you think of the selection? I said it multiple times. Hate this pick. Too many other needs. Gotta re-build that O-line first.
muck
Said another way... I wish we would have taken Joe Staley in the first and someone like Sidney Rice (WR, South Carolina) in the second. Maybe / hopefully we'll get a good OT prospect in the second or third...
KC Crazy
It's gonna be a long painful year I am afraid...
Menudo
It's gonna be a long painful year I am afraid... Nah, you'll go 8-8 or 9-7................just like every year.
muck
No. It will be a long year. Maybe we'll have a top five pick next year and Chief Dick, KC Crazy and I will head to NY for the draft, live?
Hat Trick
I thought they would take a WR or DT, and Bowe reminds me of Hines Ward. Which IMO fits perfectly into the offense they want to run.

Now that would make the painful season worthwhile. Consider it a deal if we don't fint into our middle of the pack draft as usual... Peterson's nonsense about TGreen was enough to make me puke. This is not a year I am going to relish. We knew age was going to creep up quick, but this is going to be a very tough year.
muck
My hope for our seven draft picks: DAY ONE (three picks): at least one offensive or defensive lineman and then two of DT, OT, OG, WR, QB and CB DAT TWO (four picks): at least two offensive or defensive lineman and then two of DT, OT, OG, WR, QB and CB TOTAL: four three linemen (at least one offensive and one defensive), a WR, a QB (to compete w/ Croyle and Huard) and a CB What Carl Peterson thinks we need: DAY ONE: WR, DT, DT DAY TWO: RB, PK, ???, ??? SUMMARY: I guess I'm ok with what Carl did on day one ... but what the @#$^ are we doing drafting a kicker? The RB I can see, I guess, if we're using some levarage on LJ and/or we're not that pleased with Michael Bennett. But a kicker? Maybe if we have a couple extra picks from trading Trent Green...but, that isn't going to happen now (probably), so we've wasted (imo) at least one, maybe two picks here. Apparently Peterson forgot that we've lost TWO hall of fame quality offensive linemen in the last two years ... and that we're not a better kicker away from the SB. This is really going to be a very long long long year in KC. Edited April 29, 2007 by muck
muck
PS - I don't think I'd be too upset if we took another DT, as long as it was this guy. If Tim Krumrie (our defensive line coach) got Alan Branch to whither under pressure, hopefully he's had a chance to see if he can hold up mentally. Give him a year in the classroom and watch out (or cut him if he can't learn the playbook). Other than that, we better use our last two picks on offensive linemen... muck
IMO Staley stayed on the board way to long. That's who I wanted all along, and by the time the Chiefs were on the board, I had Chief Dick agreeing with me. Apparently, Carl Peterson wasn't able to get through to ask what we thought...
