Randall
Packer Nation Interesting coverage of OTA's and minicamp from this blog including some photos. Anyone else reporting from TC? I'll probably go down to Green Bay for Training Camp. Official Training Camp site
PantherDave
http://www.panthers.com/Common/Article.aspx?id=19494 I'd say you could ink Beason in at WLB, and McGlover has added close to 20lbs and I beleive he will start opposite Jules. Richard Marshall will be one of the starting CB's when week one kicks off. Nate Sally is making some very good strides and very well may start beside Minter at S-most likey the FS, but it's early. I personally have no idea where the Jenkins situation is headed, but I'd say the Ram's finally make a play for the player they want-in Jenkins. Beason will eventually move to MLB when Morgan goes down and Anderson will move to WLB, so eventually....Beason MLB Anderson WLB Davis SLB. Talk is Minter is not the shoe in starter, but will have to compete with Cooper and Salley at S, as stated, Beason will win the starting job in TC/PS at WLB. McGlover and rookie Johnson are ahead of Rucker now for obvious reasons at DE opposite Jules. Jenkins? He gave up $175,000 to just show up for OTA's.....so I'd say he's done as a Panther. Thomas Davis seems to be setteled in at SLB and hopefully will have a more productive season. Other than stated above....."it is what it is." bushwacked
Seattle Safties - Look for the safety play to improve this year with the additions of Deon Grant and Brian Russel. Russel is the early favorite to start with Grant. Boulware and Mike Green (projected starters at the begining of last year) should be competing for backup duty. CB's - With the release of Kelly Herndon look for Marcus Trufant and 2nd year player Kelly Jennings to start. 2nd round pick Josh Wilson is a speedster and has been impressing in mini-camp and should get some playing time along with returning duties. LB's - Leroy Hill's sack numbers dipped a bit last year after a pretty impressive rookie year. Early talk indicates they intend to use him in more of a pass rusher role this year, after almost excluisvely using Peterson last year. Look for Hill's sacks to increase at the expense of Peterson DE - Patrick Kerney still is rehabbing from a pectoral injury but is suppposed to be ready for training camp. I kind of doubt he will ever match his numbers from Atlanta and question this particular signing. DT - Marcus Tubbs seems to be rehabbing very well from microfracture surgery, an injury that was possibly considered career threatning. This might not be as big from an IDP standpoint, but Seattle's rushing yards per game allowed is dramatically different with Tubbs plugging the middle. Id expect better numbers than Wistrom when he came over, but Kerny slipped a bit last yr, and may never be the player he was 2-3 yrs back.
