DMD
Mainly because while he was healing from his broken foot this summer the Broncos got Daniel Graham who surprised them how well he caught passes in camp and even more so the Broncos through two games have not used the tight ends for passes hardly at all after Cutler used them heavily in his games last year. muck
Also, haven't there been some injuries on their OL?

No disrespect, David, but Graham's pass catching ability didn't surprise anyone in DEN. Everyone in this neck of the woods knew exactly what Graham's capabilies were from his play at CU, where he was a prolific pass catcher for a TE. It was Belichek who castrated him as a receiver in NE.

DMD
Wow, Bronco Billy's last post at the huddle, who knew... Nonsense - there is hardly anyone here I enjoy disagreeing with more than Bronco. I was referring to Scheffler's success last year as a receiver versus Graham being acquired primarily as a blocker so there's no conflict here. Besides, Bronco may be wrong sometimes but he's never been in doubt - how can you not appreciate that?

Azazello1313
i just think shanahan doesn't want to take graham out of the game... Of all the players who made big plays in Sunday's nail-biting win over the Oakland Raiders, new tight end Daniel Graham drew the most praise from Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan. ‘‘The unsung hero in this game was Danny Graham,’’ Shanahan said. ‘‘He dominated the line of scrimmage and gave us 60 minutes of unbelievable football. That was one of the best tight end demonstrations I’ve seen in a long time. Even though he only had one catch, you talk about a guy that is very impressive.’’ It seemed like Graham was constantly in motion. ‘‘I think we did try to set a record,’’ Shanahan cracked. ‘‘There are obviously strategies that go behind that that we won’t go into, but there was a reason for it. He did a heck of a job considering he does have some asthma and for him to play a complete game and to be in motion as much as he was kind of gives you an idea of how important this is to him.’’
