rai
Tthere was about 5+ minutes left and Shanny elected to punt instead of kicking a 55 FG to tie. As it turned out they did get the ball back and tied the game but could have easily have kicked that last FG at the end to win the game. Now the guy I was playing had Elam and we give +4 pts to a long FG. That is 4+ 3 for a long FG 45+ yards so I would have lost if he had made the kick, so I was happy as a clam he didn't get a chance or another chance in OT. The short FG at the end was just a 3 point play. Whats the deal not kicking a I admit long FG but Elam can make those kicks. I really hate teams punting from the 40 or in. It worked well for me but I think Denver lost another close one maybe they win that if they are more daring. Also it was possible GB doesn't have to punt and Den would never get the ball back. IMO Shanny made a boo-boo
whomper
If he misses the field position would have been very good for GB..It turned out they got the ball back with a great scoring opportunity inside the 10 and failed to get the job done so I cant pin that as a bad decision by Shanny.. Bronco Billy
Elam's leg isn't near what it once was, either in strength or accuracy. DEN would have probably lost the game in regulation if they had tried to kick that one.
MrTed46
He did the right thing. They got to OT. They really should have tried to score on their 2nd to last play of the regular time. I am not sure if it was designed to be a QB draw or whatever (was listening to it).
