What is Chester Taylor's value?

Most leagues are in the final push of the regular season ... 3 more weeks until playoffs ... so it is crunch time.

Chester Taylor is very likely to get the next 3 starts (if not more). Minnesota's remaining schedule:

WK 11 vs OAK

WK 12 @ NYG

WK 13 vs DET

WK 14 @ SF

WK 15 vs CHI

WK 16 vs WAS

WK 17 @ DEN

These defenses are ranked as follows in rushing yardage allowed:

OAK - 29

NYG - 10

DET - 9

SF - 18

CHI - 26

WAS - 11

DEN - 17

Ranking them by fantasy points allowed to RBs (using the Huddle's 2007 Season-To-Date Statistics: Team Position Ranks page (1st gives up the fewest, 32nd gives up the most):

OAK - 31

NYG - 12

DET - 30

SF - 17

CHI - 29

WAS - 16

DEN - 21

While he can't replace Adrian Peterson's production it does look to me like Chester could have some very nice value over the next several weeks.

So now the question becomes ... if you own Chester Taylor how much can you get for him in trade now?

trade deadlines are all but over in most of my leagues. :D

I own him in my homer league and am starting him as a flex this week over rudi.

I have Chester in my local league which has no trade deadline ... I have held on to Chester all year (having drafted him) waiting for the eventual injury to AP.

So now I am trying to figure out how or if I should trade him ... and if I do trade him what is the most I can expect in return.

Losing AP hurts me badly in a couple leagues, but the silver lining is that I have Chester Taylor in my biggest money league (BOTH Empire) AND I can start up to 4 RBs in that league so he can line up along with Parker, Jones-Drew, and Lynch (assuming he's okay). I thought about trading Taylor away, but I think he's too valuble for me as he doesn't have to sit on the bench in our format and I am fighting for a playoff spot.

To make matters more interesting, I play the AP owner this coming weekend. He has a decent team, but the loss of AP will hurt.

I have LT, Jacobs, Selvin Young, Chester Taylor and DeAngelo Williams and can only start 2. So on the one hand I can sit on him and possibly even play him when the matchup is right ... or I can attempt to move him. I want to move him but am some what reluctant to trade him to the teams that need him the most as it will improve they playoff run potential.

The AP owner is seriously screwed in my keeper league. If he wants a shot at the money at all, he needs a starting running back. I'm trying to work a deal with him now to trade AP for Taylor and a keeper WR...

I also play him this week; added incentive for him to take the Taylor trade. I wouldn't do it, but hopefully he will.

The AP owner in my league as this roster:

MBulger / DHuard / DGarrard

SAlexander / APeterson / TBell / DWard

RMoss / TOwens / DMason / BMarshall / AToomer / DHenderson

ACrumpler / ZMiller/ MPollard

JBrown

DAL

We start 1 QB, 1 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 PK, 1 DF, 1 FLEX (RB/WR/TE) ... so he is really hurting at RB now, ESPECIALLY if SAlexander remains out. I just snagged up Maruice Morris off the waiver wire and I am going to try to put a trade together maybe something like Maurice Morris + Chester Taylor + Roddy White for Randy Moss

What is this based on? I thought there was still alot of speculation that they might shut AP down for the rest of this season.

Uh, OK. :D

The title: Good news out of bad collision

The first line: Adrian Peterson tore the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee Sunday, but the NFL's leading rusher won't need surgery and will be playing again this season.

About halfway down: Shortly after a series of tests beginning Monday at 9 a.m., however, Peterson found out the relatively good news: His knee had remained mostly intact in an awkward collision with Green Bay cornerback Al Harris in Sunday's 34-0 loss to the Packers. The only damage was a torn lateral collateral ligament, an injury that will sideline him for this Sunday's game against Oakland but not much longer.

That enough for you? :D

It baffles me they could even be considering this. Even with AP saying he is willing to do it, the future franchise is NOT worth face points for the coach.

It would possibly be the worst decision ever in the Vikings org. And that's saying something.

There's the rub... he can start for another team and help that team beat you in (or getting to) the playoffs. Or you can choose to let him rot on the bench most weeks, playing him when the matchups are favorable. The other consideration is that AP might be back in a few weeks.

they thought that Purple Jesus was crucified....but he will rise again....he just hasn't given a date...yet...

Chester is nothing more than a false prophet....he played the Raiders ....

imagine if Purple Jesus was healthy today....he might have had 300 yds and 5 TD :D
