peepinmofo
http://www.rivals.com/video.asp?section=fb...&vidid=3394 Its nice having the greatest WR in the history of the NFL as a mentor. Kid seems to have his head on right, based on a 3 minute clip anyway...
Guest Chappy
Seems to have decent hands but in a couple of those clips he looked slow out of his cuts (choppy) and in some cases after the catch he looked slow period. The one clip of him returning the kickoff showed a lack of explosiveness through the crowd (at about 1:30 or so in the video he even admits to needing to get faster). If he had top end speed, he would have blown through the pack and seperated from the field very quickly, instead, a defender was able to take a position, get tripped up, and still recover to stay even with Rice and get the angle on him to take him out of bounds. He should have been gone. Then again his father wasn't the fastest guy on the field but he did everything at such a high level it made him tough to defend. Hell, there were even times Jerry Rice would actually win a foot race with a guy who had a better 40 time and was supposed to be faster. And he's currently only 5'10". So every other aspect of his game better be top notch. Edited May 26, 2008 by Chappy
Chargerz
He seems like a nice kid. I hope he does well. He's certainly got the pedigree (which could be a curse too).
Savage Beatings
Yeah I thought he looked pretty slow too. Doesn't mean he won't succeed, but he'll have to work awfully hard to overcome a lack of speed.
piratesownninjas
For those saying he's slow... He plays offense, defense and special teams, so the kid isn't as fresh as the other guys on the field... He's also still in high school. I do agree that the pedigree could also be a curse.

Definitely won't be a good college WR and has no chance at NFL IMO..

He's young so maybe speed will come.

He's also still in high school. I do agree that the pedigree could also be a curse. I guess that could be the case. But in that one clip, especially being one that they chose to show in the collection, I expected him to turn on the jets and leave all hopeful tacklers in the dust. Didn't happen, reality was he actually got caught from behind. I got the eyelash out of your eye. It was a big one so without you looking up as well as you did, I probably wouldn't have gotten it. The clips shown weren't in a game. It's not like he was tired from playing several positions. He's young so maybe speed will come. I guess it's possible. However, true speedsters usually would've seperated themselves from everyone else by his age showing elite speed. His game will more than likely be based around precision (routes), great hands, elusiveness, body control and other such talents, if speed isn't his strong suit. I wish him nothing but the best and hope his dad's footsteps aren't too much for him to overcome.
