Balzac
From rotoworld: "Ahman Green (ankle) is currently in a protective boot. Steve Slaton is expected to be the Texans' starting running back in Week 2. If only they weren't facing Baltimore. Slaton, who got the ball 19 times in Houston's opener, could see 20 or more touches this time around, but couldn't be recommended as more than a flex in PPR leagues. Chris Taylor is a candidate for goal-line carries, as he'll be the biggest Texans back active." Yeah - they're facing a stout run D in Balt and everything but 20 touches is 20 touches . . . especially in ppr leagues. I might have to use this guy this week (and I'm even considering starting him over McFadden).
Avernus
I'd start McFadden this week over Slaton...
Grimm74
I like the fact that Houston was committed to using him over Taylor on Sunday. Slaton has somewhat a bad running schedule ahead.

Johnson did so well because he's good...Slaton is a pusslee and will get about 50 rush yds and 15 rec yds....
tomfin2000
Until that line learns to play at an NFL level, I'd avoid Slaton unless he's got a cake matchup and the rest of your RBs suck. Unfortunately, I fall into that category already, but I'd rather roll out Derrick Ward against the Rams and hope for a decent number of touches and GTP than watch Slaton get manhandled by the Ravens all afternoon. You'd really rather do that? Surprising. A starting back is still a starting back.

tomfin2000
I'd really rather do that. Slaton is a starting RB, not a feature back, on a team with a stuggling o-line and a struggling defense, and he's up against one of the better rushing defenses in the NFL. Ward is a change of pace back on a team with a solid o-line and a solid defense, and he's going up against one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL. As the saying goes, it's not the number of touches, it's what you do with them.
tomfin2000
Chris Perry was a starting back last week... Exactly. Brian Leonard was a starting RB for a good portion of last season as well.
Cunning Runt
Chris Perry was a starting back last week... I know, but I'd still rather start someone starting than Derrick Ward. He's got two guys in front of him who are gonna get more by far the lion's share of touches.
Balzac
I'm in a PPR league and I expect Slaton to get at least 4 or 5 receptions out of the backfield - I also get .25 points per carry, so I tend to like the potential of guys who're touching the ball 20 times, as opposed to guys with better matchup who'll only see 10 or so touches. With Slaton, at least you know he'll get his chances.
