piratesownninjas
The CHIEFS will make the playoffs next year As odd as it sounds, I agree with you on this. I think they're going in the right direction. Of course I'm also sold on Tyler Thigpen as the starter they've been looking for as well. Atlanta is another that turned things around with better coaching and Matt Ryan. KC could do it wirh a few key changes. Grits and Shins
Do you anticipate that Herm will still be the coach.
keggerz
Were you wrong on any? Atlanta is another that turned things around with better coaching and Matt Ryan. well Miami hasnt made the playoffs yet but I said "I think Miami could surprise" this year...i would think having a chance to go 11-5 and win the div with 2 games to go would constitute surprising....and cleveland didnt make the playoffs but they sure did SURPRISE everyone last year and just missed out on the playoffs....not sure I have ever called a playoff team this early and trust me I know its a stretch but KC looks much like Miami did last year(now they do anyway) they just have to learn how to win these close games which I think they will...with a new coach
keggerz
Do you anticipate that Herm will still be the coach. I dont but even if herm stays I will stand by what I said their DL and LBs have been decimated by injuries this year and that should be much improved next year...Hali has been abysmal but has the talent to bounce back....dorsey is still improving and Carr and Flowers will be much better with a season under their belts...DaJuan Morgan will most likely end up bumping Pollard from the SS spot and I see the D much improved next year...and we can see the offense is clicking Edited December 21, 2008 by keggerz
Chief Dick
The Chiefs have played hard all year. Herm has not lost this team. And that's saying something. Not saying he deserves another year, but at least there are some positives.
Grits and Shins
I dont but even if herm stays I will stand by what I said I just don't see Herm being that successful ... the only way KC could make it is by being in a weak division

keggerz
Miami has a new GM and a new HC. Will we be saying the same of KC next year? yes on the GM & maybe, maybe no on the coach but the pieces are there to build on...and I will say this... the Cheifs have played with more heart and grit than the Cowboys and Herm has gotten 1000% more out of his players than Wade and the cowboys have Edited December 21, 2008 by keggerz

keggerz
QB: Thigpen does seem to be showing he should at least get a shot to lead the team next year RB: LJ is not washed up and I would expect him to be in good shape for next year (IE: he didnt carry the ball 1000 times this year) WR: Bowe is an up and comer at WR and Bradley is a competent WR2 TE: Gonzo is still Gonzo and would love to lead a CHIEFS team to the playoffs OL: Improving....since Thigpen has been starting they have given up just 1 sack in a game 63% of the time DL: Dorsey is improving and has a good attitude and I can see him being one of the premier DTs in the league in a few years and a very good DT next year....Hali like I said has struggled but he has the talent and with an improved Dorsey it will make it easier for Hali to bounce back...also the CHiefs lost Turk McBride to IR and Jason Babin has actually come in and played well since joining the Chiefs...Boone should be serviceable being rotated in LB: Donnie Edwards is now on IR and was injured much of the year...Derrick Johnson has been moved to MLB and he is a talent and is someone they can build around....Demorrio Williams is not the answer, Boiman is a nice role player but not a guy to build on...Pat Thomas is replacement level talent....yes the LBs have been horrid and beaten up by injuries to boot...but there are a few nice LBs avail in FA this year...a guy like Mike Peterson or Angelo Crowell playing WLB paired with DJ at MLB would be an IMMEDIATE upgrade...and if Edwards does come back he would be a good fit at SLB as his coverage ability would be a good fit DB: the Secondary is YOUNG and is only going to improve...Carr and Flowers look to be NFL quality corners and will be improved with a year under their belts....Page has shown he can handle the FS spot and at SS Pollard hits like a Mack Truck but DeJuan Morgan could end up winning that job in camp next year... I would expect to see the Chiefs use their early picks on the OL and DL and that will help immensely....yes I am crazy but I see them in the fight for a playoff spot next year and am going out on a limb and saying they will make it...sure its a long shot but so is the cowboys having a winning record after November :oldrazz:
wolfden1
add to that their division absoulutely sux and you've got yourself a playoff team!!! Edited December 21, 2008 by wolfden1
Randall
Doughboy is indeed a horrible coach and has no clue how to get half effort let alone maximum effort from his team. He may believe his players are professionals and don't require outside motivation.
