rai
I know you guys are the best and could correct my stats. I didn't get a chance to add in the bonus TDs such as rushing TDs by a WR or QB or throwing TDs or receiving TDs by a RB. If anyone wants to correct that I'd be glad. But here are the records (just straight passing or rushing or receiving TDs). Passing- Brady 50 2007 Peyton 49 2004 Marino 48 1984 Rushing- LT 28 2006 Shaun Alexander 27 2005 Holmes 27 2003 Receiving- Moss 23 2007 Rice 22 1987 Sterling Sharp 18 1994 Mark Clayton 18 1984 ---- I mean for a regular 16 game season. You'd have to pro-rate to 56 passing for 18 game season etc. Which record will most likely be broken? I don't mean this year but just in general, is there any that are untouchable? piratesownninjas
I don't really see any of them getting broken by anything that's in the NFL right now.

I would have to say that's the most likley. I mean Brady had 5 TDs in one Quarter of play last year (6 TDs in less than 20 minutes of game time). All Brady needs to do is wear the throwback uniforms and play in a few snow games. Edited September 3, 2010 by rai

Brady-With McDaniels gone, New England isn't going to be nearly as crazy as it was in 2007. If he is to do it, he has to have Moss, which might be his last year in Nengland Brees-Too many options, and I think the Saints offensive numbers dip. I think Brees throws around 28-30 TD's this year. Winning a SB makes the following season harder. You're everyone's homecoming. Manning- I just don't see it. He has one season with 40 TDs and the rest are in the high 20's to low 30;s. Pair that with the fact that he never plays a full 16 game schedule and I think Addai/Brown punch in a healthy amount of TD's. Rodgers- Grant and the Fullbacks cap his TD ceiling somewhere in the high 30's. That and Rodgers will run a few in. I do have a record that I think will be broken. If I'm not mistaken, Antonio Gates and Vernon Davis hold the record for most TD's in a season by a TE at 13 i believe. Jermichael Finley breaks that this year. Brentastic
I see ADP breaking the TD record before he retires.
piratesownninjas
I see ADP breaking the TD record before he retires. Problem with him is that a year or two down the road the vikings are going to be in trouble. Pat Williams is long in the tooth as is Fave. They have a lot of key players that are aging. If he's going to do it, he has to do it now.
rai
the total yards old records may be easier to break total passing yards Marino 5084 1984 Brees 5069 2008 Warner 4830 2001 Brady 4806 2007 Total rushing yards (six guys have had 2000+ yard seasons) Dickerson 2105 1984 Jamal Lewis 2066 2003 Total receiving yards (I'm surprized no one has come close lately). Rice 1884 1995 Bruce 1781 1995

That's going to be a hell of a combination for the Packers for a while. Unfortunately

Unfortunately I just bought my TGIFinley's shirt from his website. I'm downright giddy about him. Extremely excited for the rematch against the Vikes this year. Furd
I don't think that the rushing TD record will be broken for quite awhile. The NFL is clearly a passing league now more than ever.
