Tally
Ive been playing FF since the mid 90's but this is my very first shot at IDP. So, im looking for some advise. Team 1 below. There seems to be alot of good players on the wire. Anyone have any suggestions on players I should add/drop? I know Sapp was a weak choice, truth is I only took him cause Im a Raider fan and wanted at least 1 Raider on my team and he was my very last pick of the draft. Also, im thinking K. kennedy can probably be upgraded. I know its a bit of a hard question cause you guys dont know whos available, but maybe you have some sleepers you would recomend that may still be out there. Runner
I think you did well. Your DL is very solid, but dump Sapp and pick up someone else. Don't know who to tell you to pick because I don't know who is out there. LBs are solid - Edwards and Morgan are your starters. Just hope Morgan doesn't get another concussion. As far as your DBs, I like M. Lewis and M. Williams, but I think you can find someone better that K. Kennedy. List some reserves and I'll tell you who I'd pick. Tally
Sorry, Here's the scoring system, Assisted Tackles- 0.5 points Defensive Fumble Recovered- 1 point Defensive TD- 6 points Forced Fumble- 2 points Interceptions- 3 points Pass Defensed- 1 point Sack- 2 points Safety- 2 points Tackle -1 point Plus a 2 point bonus @ 5+ TK
gilthorp
This Runner guy is giving you some good advice. Sapp is very over rated as a fantasy DL. Kennedy hits hard when he happens to be in the right place at the right time, and that's often rare. Peppers is like having two DL's on your team, he's that good. Grant and Julius are the two best IMO...so you're set there. Morgan will get hurt as he always does, so, throw some options out there to Darin in the Fantasy Advice forum and see what direction he gives you to upgrade that #3 LB. Runner
There HAS to be some other players other than the ones you listed. Since your league relies on tackles, which I like, then maybe you should see what starting Strong Safties are available since they usually make more tackles than Free Safties or Cornerback. There HAS to be others out there. As far as LBs, pick a MLB in a 4/3. One guy who may be there who I think may be primed for a big year is Odell Thurman (Cincinnati). Grab him if he is there. One DL that I like who is way under the radar is Osi Umenyiora. He played well last year, when Strahan went down. Now that Strahan is back, Osi should benefit big time. He may be there as well. \ Good luck.

darin3
Hey Tally - got your PM ... sorry it took a bit to get back to you and read your post. I generally agree w/ everyone that's already responded. You're right, Sapp was a homer pick - nothing else... He really doesn't hold much value in IDP leagues, unfortunately. Even with an improved Oakland D. Gil speaks the truth: Parrish is probably the best off that list. SF is gonna have its D on the field alot... and Parrish can make plays. Perhaps you dump Kennedy (who is on-again-off-again) for him. Another off that list of DBs to consider is Brodney Pool - he'll be playing SS for another D that'll be on the field alot. And SSs in Crennel's system usually do well (read: Rodney Harrison). Give him a look, too. Hope that helps. Oh, yeah, you're strong at DL. And LB. No need to get shifty there. I'm not sold on him yet, since it's been only one game. However, he is still better than Sapp. You'd be upgrading for now anyway. As far as DB, I'd grab SS Nick Ferguson right away. He had a nice game, and was all over the field. I'm sure he'll be a hot commodity this week. Keep an eye on Cris Crocker. He played instead of Sean Jones and obviously got a lot of tackles. I don't know much about him, but I'm awainting the low-down on him from my sources in Cleveland. I'll let you know when I get the info. I agree with Darin3 on Derrick Johnson. I'd dump Arrington and pick up Johnson. My second choice would be Lemar Marshall. Both are upgrades at LB, and will compliment your solid starters you have now. Hope this helps some.
