A German New Year's Eve Tradition

Watching this on New Year's Eve is a German (and Swiss and Austrian) tradition. Go figure.

 

(they also shoot off more fireworks than you would believe. Since they don't really celebrate a national holiday, New Year's Eve is pretty much the one day of the year that they shoot off fireworks--last year I felt like I was in the middle of an Allied bombing raid in late 1944.)

I'd say "apparently I just don't get British humor" but I do. This is just vaguely amusing.

 

Ah, continentals. They like this, bike racing, and getting invaded by Germans; who are we to judge?
