kpholmes
Am I the only one who is incredibly pissed off at these numbers? Week 1 v Jets - 51 yards Week 2 @ Raiders - 44 yards Week 3 @ Broncos - 29 yards Today vs Eagles - 5 yards. Maybe its just because i lost todays game by 4 points. And if he didn't have a big 0 next to his name, i might not care that much. Any thoughts? I thought this was the number 1 TE in the league... Should owners start looking for a trade out or will he rebound ?? Edited October 2, 2005 by kpholmes
Chavez
The question is what will piss you off more - trading him for less than face value only to see him blow up, or deal with him underproducing all year? I'd rather put misplaced trust in my own acumen and sit on him; the guy is still young and is arguably the greatest TE ever to play; same coaches, same offense, same QB - why wouldn't he rebound? kpholmes
Because he's shown no signs what so ever of comming anywhere near a rebound from 4 awful weeks... Is it the coverage, or is Green just not looking his way much these days?
peepinmofo
How slow did he start last year? I remember him being a very slow starter, but always coming on STRONG. However, I dont remember it being 4 weeks in a row. Anyone have stats from last year of him through the 1st 4 games?
Chavez
Anyone have stats from last year of him through the 1st 4 games? 1038932[/snapback] vs Den - 2-16; vs Car - 4-63; vs Hou - 8-106-1; vs Bal - 4-
ts
I think Gonzo used up 4 weeks worth of being a target this year in the final game last season, when Green threw at him 24 times to get him the 12 catches he needed to reach 100 receptions for the year. kpholmes
9/12 @ DEN - 17 yards 9/19 v CAR - 63 yards 9/26 v HOU - 106 yards, 1 TD 10/4 @ BAL - 42 yards 10/17 @ JAC-81 yards Not that much better, but definetly better.
peepinmofo
Ya I figured as much. This just shows though that patience is a virtue. Hopefully he'll step it up a bit.
TheCMB
too bad I'm already 1-3 - and today had LJ Smith sitting on my bench behind Gonzo... :doah:
vasco75
I've noticed that he's blocking a lot more since Willie Roaf has been out. I believe that Roaf is coming back after the bye next week. Hopefully at that point we'll see the Gonzo of old...
