wirehairman
I'd rather listen to Dre any day than the newer rappers and their cataphonic, mindless songs (still can't believe a rap song about tennis shoes was actually the #1 song in the U.S. ). Rap has really gone downhill without the likes of Dre and Tupac.
Dutch Oven
I'm hoping this is really going to happen. I'm sick of getting a Dre fix off of a couple cameo rhymes.

Check out: - Atmosphere - Common Market - Blue Scholars - MF Doom/Viktor Vaughn - RJD2 (English DJ who is not really "new" but he's not all that well known) - Zion I - Gift of Gab - Prefuse 73 (largely instrumental, but creative and different) - The new Gorrilaz Lots of great stuff coming out of the underground/back pack rap scene. Granted, not all of it is great. But, as you've pointed out, hardly anything from the mainstream scene is worth paying for these days. Seahawk37
he is a genious. The stuff he makes is amazing. It seems like to me he doesnt make his own cd's enough as he should. He's always helping other people out. But Detox 2006 is gonna be awesome.

I really jab myself in the eardrums anytime that darn Laffy Taffy song comes on.

Dr Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Exzibit, The Game are the best rappers these days. But anyways I must disagree with Eminem being the best writer. Dr Dre is the man in that department. He has written a lot of eminems stuff and has helped out a lot of people in the business. Eminem is a great rapper though. Probably the best.
