Can teams go too far in free agency?

I think the Skins have made themselves the best team in the NFC myself. of course it is not just what the Redskins have done,  what other teams have not done has effected this as much as what the Redskins have done. as weak as the NFC is , I do not see a better team in it.

I bet we we looked back for that past 5 years. We would see the same exact posting, every year.

It is alwasy the same for them. Pick up new vets to try to make it to the super bowl. They will blow it again this year.

Nope.  see my post in the McCown signing thread.

Actually, on the original topic, I think teams often do "anything," including "too much", just to be sure they so "something".  (For many years here in Cincy, we wish we'd have done "anything").

Marvin Lewis is not like that (and I'm glad).  He comes from the Pitt (and several others) model where you build your team, using FAs as only a piece here or there.  There's an argument that this may have slowed the improvement of the Bengals (esp on def), but I believe that when they finally get it "built", the Bengals are gonna be a very good team for a decent stretch.

Dude, no offense, but you guys are far from being a guarenteed winning team next year. in fact I expect you guys to be the bust of the year.

Until you guys get a bonafide defense, you will continue to be unpredictable.not trying to tear down what you guys did, because I have rooted for the Bengels ever since Kenny Anderson , he is 1 of the most underappreciated players to ever be in the NFL, and the reason I do root for Cincy right now. that being said, I have to be honest about what I think.

Not from me you won't. you can find it last year and this year. I am a Lions fan. never been a Redskin fan. that being said, I have to be objective. the skins got the coaching, defense, running game. the 3 main ingrediants it takes to make (and win) a SB.

You say it has always the same thing...well that is not true. They got Gibbs running the show, if there is a always connected to him it won't be for losing games.

Agree. (although I didn't guarantee that. I merely said that once they establish a decent DEF, they will be a consistenly good team, IMO. I was talking about FA approach, etc)

in fact I expect you guys to be the bust of the year.

If Palmer is back, I disagree strongly.

If Palmer is not back (or is done, GASP) then I wouldn't call their lost season (which it will be sans Palmer) a "bust".

Until you guys get a bonafide defense, you will continue to be unpredictable.

Agree. But I bet it's not unpredictable that the offense puts a hurt on a lot of teams no matter what the def is. When the def gets decent someday, the whole team will be consistenly good

Dude, no offense......

Kenny Anderson , he is 1 of the most underappreciated players to ever be in the NFL.....

F'n A right! He belongs in the Hall of Fame, IMO.

certainly.
