Swampnuts
I just signed up for the service. It's a company that is supposed to help prevent identity theft and fraud. They place fraud alerts on all your credit accounts, monitor your credit reports, set fraud alerts in your name with the credit bureaus, and put a halt on all the pre-approved credit cards and loan offers that we get bombarded with in the mail. The cost is $10 a month per person. The perk is that you'll get a confirmation call prior to any credit being activated or approved in your name. So if you don't personally approve it, the request gets immediately denied. Anybody use this service or heard about it? I've had two close friends ripped up lately with identity theft, and it scared me big time. This company also offers you a $1 million guarantee for lost money and legal fee's. Any feedback out there? http://www.lifelock.com/ Edited July 2, 2007 by Swampnuts
Bronco Billy
Just curious as to why you'd ask about it after you signed up... BTW - paying close attention for responses. I'm curious to see if people are satisfied with their service also.
alexgaddis
Are you scared of killer bees attacking you? Swampnuts
I didn't think about asking the brethren until after I'd signed up. Plus, it's a monthly charge and you can cancel anytime. I can't seem to find any downside to it though.

Swampnuts
only kidding...I guess I have just been fortunate to never know anybody that has had to deal with identity theft... I was just trying to make you feel guilty. My friends have both had big troubles fixing these problems. The hardest part is dealing with the credit bureaus from what I understand.
