chester
My fiance has to take a test at the U of Milwaukee later this month. We want to get a hotel as close to there as possible as the test is early in the morning. We don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but want something fairly nice. A suite would be nice, as she could study the night before while I drink beer and watch porn tv - but not necessary. A fridge and a microwave would be a plus, though an entire kitchen would be unnecessary. I don't know the area, so any help would be appreciated. Dr. Love
Not familiar with Milwaukee, but if you're looking for hotels by the U of W Milwaukee, these are the Google maps search results I got: http://maps.google.com/maps?near=Universit...p;z=12&om=1 I like Hampton Inns, personally (there's one ~3 miles away). It will be clean and reasonably-priced. If you want to spend the big bucks for a nice suite, try the Embassy Suites (there's one ~3 miles away). I've stayed at several with fantastic results. They're really nice, usually.

Bronco Billy
Been a long time since I've been there, but North Avenue used to have some pretty decent bars to carouse in. I'd guess there's a hotel nearby somewhere & it's fairly close to UWM. You'd need someone from there to verify that it's still a safe place to be (relatively speaking, of course). Chavez
You get the same answer everyone else gets - "I LIVE here, what the hell do I know about hotels?" Um, I don't know prices, but basically I'd recommend the La Quinta Suites in Glendale - right off I-43, you can get to UWM by pretty much taking 2 turns, and it's near shopping and restaurants in a nice area. It says average rate is $171, but Orbitz has it listed at $105. Otherwise, Milwaukee is ridiculously easy to get around compared to just about any other large city I've been in - hotels down by the airport tend to have the best rates, but they are a 15 minute drive away from UWM. Downtown hotels are closer than the airport, but they generally run major $$$. And North Ave is still a safe place to go out and scope the UWM co-eds. I used to live over there. The hotels fairly nearby are expensive. Going to Shorewood or Glendale is a good idea. I was thinking the same thing while I was posting this. I give the same response when friends ask me where to stay here. Thanks to everybody! gbpfan1231
If you have time head downtown and grab a bite to eat at The King and I Thai. Best Thai food I ever had. Order the Volcano Chicken (or Shrimp).

Order the Volcano Chicken (or Shrimp). Thanks, but we'll be getting into town in the evening and camping out in the hotel until morning as she'll need to do some serious studying. She's taking a test to become certified as a psycologist after college, masters, and 3000 hours of (basically) apprenticeship. It's a big deal and more than 50% fail. If - I mean when she passes, her hourly wage goes up approximately 500% (seriously).

chester
Fixed Percentages are all relative, of course. You wouldn't believe how little she has made for 2 years. She does all the work, the doctor sees the client for 10 minutes, adds one paragraph to her 30 page diagnosis and pockets a thousand dollars. She makes less than me right now and I'm a bartender working 32 hours a week.

Thats pretty good coin, and means you could afford the lifetime huddle memberships... At least to those of us in any league you are in. Oh that includes me! Thanks! Bronco Billy
She makes less than me right now and I'm a bartender working 32 hours a week. That takes balls. Not everyone has the cajones to come here & admit that they run their wife right into the freakin' ground to support their slacker out-until-all-hours lifestyle. Not everyone has the cajones to come here & admit that they run their wife right into the freakin' ground to support their slacker out-until-all-hours lifestyle. We are in deep discussion about wether I'm going to continue this 'slacker out-until-all-hours lifestyle.' I think it's the perfect gig: Mon-Thurs 6pm-2AMish. No weekends or Fridays EVER. I pick up the kid from school (she drops him off), I do most of the housework, etc. But we see each other for about 3 hours while we're sleeping and about an hour before I go to work (Mon-Thurs). I can deal with it, she can't.
