The Holy Roller
If you don't know the story you're missing a good one. Hit a homer last nite in his first game as a starting outfielder.
Puddy
Nice to hear he's made it back. The kid was the next coming of Sandy Koufax...completely loses his ability to throw a strike (or hit the side of a barn for that matter). Must be a hell of an athlete to make it back as a position player with a good stick.
myhousekey
and he hits 2 more today... http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=270811124
major-tom
Wow, incredible story. "You know St. Louis is in a pennant race - they're not just calling this kid up for a feel-good story," Dodgers pitcher Derek Lowe said. "I'm amazed at what he could do. I know I couldn't stop pitching and become a major league hitter. To be able to do what he is doing is a phenomenal story."
Ursa Majoris
I've been following this since they talked about calling him up. Not only is he extremely talented to be able to be a major league player with both ball and bat, he's also got boundless determination. tbimm
This kid was completely defeated just 2 seasons ago and now here he is doing exactly what he said he was going to do. The media laughed but he stuck with it. Good for him and everyone else who sets a goal and achieves it!
Chief Dick
Great story. I remember feeling so sorry for this kid a couple of years ago. Major props to someone who could have easily folded his tent and gone home.
SheikYerbuti
I remember feeling so sorry for this kid a couple of years ago. As a Mets fan, I thoroughly enjoyed his first stint in the majors.
