Arrow
Two man keeper league. 8 teams. 1- QB (1pt per 25yds) 2- RB (1pt per 10yds) 2- WR (1pt per 10yds) 1- TE (1pt per 10yds) 1- Defense 1- Kicker 1- WR/TE (1pt per 10yds) 1- WR/RB (1pt per 10yds) I have LJ, so I am obviously hanging on to him. Here are my options remaining. Carson Palmer Clinton Portis Tatum Bell Torry Holt Marvin Harrison FWIW I drew the seventh selection in this years draft, so it is safe to assume that 23 of the top guys will be off of the board with my first selection. Any thoughts? Edited August 21, 2007 by Arrow
Big Country
Palmer is out, and as I have Holt ranked higher than Harrison, Harrison is out. The debate then is between Holt and Portis. Locking up a second good RB is important, but with the potential to start 4 WRs, you can get good value from the position. Any insight as to what the position counts are that are being kept by the other teams? I have a feeling as per most leagues, lots of good WRs will be available (after all, it's only 8 teams, so there will be depth for everyone anyway), so I would opt to keep Portis as my second keeper and then focus on the top available WR in the draft unless a real good option for the 3rd flex RB is there, as you would likely still be able to get a good WR 3 picks later. And, with only 8 teams and only 1 QB starter, no need to draft one anytime soon.
SLGRAF
Of the group you listed, I'd go with Harrison. I thiink the top 4-5 WRs are all very close in value, but Harrison is the most consistent of the bunch.

So that takes a majority of the RB stable off of the board right away.

So that takes a majority of the RB stable off of the board right away. If it wasn;t for the factthat you can start the third RB, I'd say I would then throw Portis back, lock up the WR and redraft an RB in the first round of picks, but with the option to start 3 RBs, it's too likely that Portis and more RBs may be taken ahead of your pick, and, with pretty much all of the WRs out there, you're still looking at a very solid WR pick. I think I still keep Portis.
craiginthecapital
If most kept 2 RBs, that means they'll be going to WRs out of the gate. Portis is high risk/low reward with Betts available. I keep Harrison here. With everybody needed WRs, there's a chance you could grab Portis back anyway. If not, I think you're just as well with LJ/Harrison and someone like Benson as compared to Portis. Otherise, you're going to lose all the top WRs as they go by in the first 5 or 6 picks.
