ANY CASINO DEALERS OUT THERE?

Being a long time casino card player, I was wondering what kind of job it is. I know the hours may not be the best, nights/weekends, etc. but overall what kind of experience am I looking at? What kind of money can I expect to make if I work maybe 25 hours a week? Location is Southeast Indiana. I would only be interested in table games.

I live in CT and one of the guys I play hockey with is a dealer at one of the indian casinos out here. The guy has been doing it for the last 5-7 years, and I guess he makes pretty decent money, but the stress and the BS he has to put up with are insane. They treat their employees like garbage, and they can do it because there is no union, and they always have a stack of applications ready to choose your replacement from.. Hopefully it's different in Indiana. I would just ask a lot of questions up front and make sure you know exactly what they will expect of you in terms of shiftwork, salary, time off, benefits, etc. Good luck.

The prior two posts raise valid concerns. The Indiana casinos are not affiliated with the tribes. I would never work at one of those. I didn't like playing at them when i lived in Oregon; I can only imagine what working there would be like. Good advice on getting specifics on shifts, bennies, etc. As for the experience, these sites really stress customer service. I talked to a couple of pit bosses and they told me that if you have good customer service skills they will train you. Thanks everyone for the feedback. This would only be something that I would consider as a part time gig after retirement so I would only do it on my own terms. That will probably be a deal breaker, but hey I don't really need the job. I'm just looking for something to do that I have an interest in.

I tried becoming a dealer back in 2002, but they required experience or that you work your way up and I just wanted to deal :D
