darin3
Ever since my wife and I started dating, I've been pimpin' my homemade tomato sauce (AKA "gravy"). My best HS friend is 100% FOB Italian and taught me how to make it back in the day. My wife likes pasta alright but it's not one of her favorites. Plus, it takes most of the day to properly cook it. Finally had the time and ingredients to make it for us........ Made some penne pasta, some garlic bread. Mmm mmm. So, how do you make your gravy? Or is it a family secret? I won't give away my (err, my buddy's) secrets just yet. Edited January 3, 2008 by darin3

darin3
http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=132586 Yeah, I thought we addressed this topic a few years back. Not sure if we got many recipes or not. Will have to re-review.
darin3
Yeah, I thought we addressed this topic a few years back. Not sure if we got many recipes or not. Will have to re-review. I guess I gave up my recipe. Of course I omitted a major cog of what I add...

Kid Cid
My wife makes a killer marinara sauce. I take her base and use it to make my puttanesca sauce. It will take us all day but we'll have enough to freeze 4 meals after the one we eat. I'll also make a batch of meatballs at the same time and throw a bunch of those in the freezer. Yeah we had leftovers, too... enough for dinner for two for sure. I put it in a Pyrex and will add some asparagus and mozzarella cheese before putting in the oven to bake. Dee-licious. dmarc117
always grew up in a 'sweet' sauce house. mama used to load the sauce with sugar. wifey found a new way to sweeten the sauce. shred carrots very finely and throw in the sauce at the beginning. they cook down and sweeten the sauce. whoopazz
I make the best meatballs and sauce this side of the Atlantic. This is my true specialty and I'll be glad to share if you have PayPal accounts.
