Skilly
Oh, that's right. They don't have one yet do they? After Jim Bates 'stepped down" earlier this year, I can find no articles that say if the Broncs hired someone else, or are even looking. Shanny does such a wonderful job of handling everything else, I'm sure he can take care of the DC duties as well. Seriously though.......did they hire anybody and I just can't find a link? budlitebrad
Bob Slowik, who coincidentally was replaced by Jim Bates as DC in Green Bay. Edited March 8, 2008 by budlitebrad

Bronco Billy
Slowik is the next one to get the axe because of Shanahan's complete ineptitude in evaluating front 7 D players and drafting more than 1 actual playmaker at any of those positions in the past 5 years. Bronco Billy
Here, let's go back even further. These are the D players selected in the draft since the last SB year - the guys who ought to be the backbone of the team's D unit, with a good mix of vets & up and coming young players: Year Round Pick Name Position2002 3 31 Dorsett Davis DT2000 4 7 Jerry Johnson DT2003 4 17 Nicholas Eason DT2002 7 20 Monsanto Pope DT2001 2 20 Paul Toviessi DE2001 3 25 Reggie Hayward DE2006 4 29 Elvis Dumervil DE*2003 4 31 Bryant McNeal DE1999 5 25 David Bowens DE2003 6 21 Aaron Hunt DE2003 7 13 Clint Mitchell DE2004 1 17 D.J. Williams LB*1999 1 31 Al Wilson LB2000 2 9 Ian Gold LB2003 2 19 Terry Pierce LB1999 2 27 Montae Reagor LB1998 7 30 Nate Wayne LB2000 1 15 Deltha O'Neal DB2001 1 24 Willie Middlebrooks DB2000 2 14 Kenoy Kennedy DB2005 2 24 Darrent Williams DB1998 2 31 Eric Brown DB1999 3 6 Chris Watson DB2005 3 12 Karl Paymah DB2004 3 22 Jeremy LeSueur DB2005 3 33 Domonique Foxworth DB*2002 4 33 Sam Brandon DB2004 5 20 Jeff Shoate DB1999 5 34 Darwin Brown DB2002 7 17 Chris Young DB * - still with the team entering '08 OTAs. Does anyone wonder why DEN's D - what used to be its pride & joy - sucks so incredibly badly with little hope in sight? at blaming this on any D coordinator. You can't make chicken salad out of chickenschist. Edited March 9, 2008 by Bronco Billy
