detlef
Obviously I'm not the same page politically as the dude but, lately, I've really tried as hard as I can to put that aside and decide if it would be even remotely funny even if I agreed with him. It's not working. He just seems like a bitter old fart who's pissing and moaning. So, I ask you. Well, ideally I ask those of you conservatives with a sense of humor if you think this guy is funny. Also, as a conservative, do you really feel he's speaking for you? Here's a page about him
Ursa Majoris
No, it's total crap. I used to read it every day until the local paper got rid of it. Said paper runs about 40-some strips daily and that one was one of the worst. Humorless whining rubbish.
Chavez
There was another conservative-leaning strip called Prickly City that was quite a bit better.
yo mama
Never heard of Mallard Fillmore before today. So he can't be *that* funny.

Ursa Majoris
There was another conservative-leaning strip called Prickly City that was quite a bit better. That's the one that replaced Fillmore in the local rag. It's OK but not likely to have you rolling around on the floor. That's the preserve of Pearls Before Swine and the idiot crocodiles. Stefan Pastis rules!

BeeR
Haven't seen it for years. It was funny at times as I recall, although more often "telling" than funny - eg I always remember one where he was watching TV and the announcer was going on about "stop ranting about violence, sex (etc) on TV; people aren't influenced by what they see on TV!" ........and Mallard went "wow - people aren't influenced by what they see on TV! ..........I wonder if their sponsors know about that" Edited May 24, 2008 by BeeR

Randall
I thought conservatives were for small government, keeping government out of people's private lives and a balanced budget. You know like Goldwater republicans. But since Reagan and later the hijacking by the religious right they aren't conservatives anymore. They are now religious corporatists and need to take the term conservative back. Republicans killed off conservatives years ago.
