JoJoTheWebToedBoy
Dilaudid Outstanding...... But Percocet would be my choice. Tore my back up last year and I had promised to take my wife to the casino for her birthday so I knocked down a couple and spent the afternoon in their tequila bar. Didn't feel a thing.... Chargerz
Here's another HUGH vote for Percocet. My patients get WAY better relief from that than Vicodin &/or Motrin.
westvirginia
Bunionectomies are one of the most painful minor surgeries you can have. Don't tell her that though, anticipation is a big part of the experience of pain. Lortab and Vicodin are both hydrocodone/acetaminophen products although Lortabs tend to have more narcotic per tablet. Percocet contains oxycodone/acetaminophen. Oxycodone is twice as potent mg for mg than hydrocodone. Bottom line, she should have better pain relief with Percocet unless she gets a very high strength Lortab. Good advice here. Lortab is 10 mg hydro, Vicoden is 7.5 (so Lortab is stronger) My pain managment Dr. always said that Oxycodone was about 50% stronger than Hydrocodone, and I took a bunch for five years. But Perc's can be had in 5mg, 7.5 mg or 10mg strength. Ask for Perc 10/325 (only 325 mg of Tylenol but 10 mg of Oxycodone). All those pills are scored, so you can just break them in half. Start with 1/2 and go from there. Heed the advice above though, they can make you naseous and crap little bricks. And take it from someone who was VERY addicted, the shorter time you take them, the better off you are.

McBoog
Very true. Hey Doc. Anyone you related to (or about to be) in that belly in the Av?
Mark5
From personal experience the Percs will help more. FINALLY had back surgery last November and I was taking both. Vicodin for the normal pain and the Percs when you just can't move. Add in a few somas and the new users will be in HAPPY LAND until they fall asleep drooling in 20 minutes. BTW-- Benefiber mixed with ANY drink works wll as a softener.
Clubfoothead
I try and avoid pills if I can. Your wife won't be able to though with that procedure. After my colon surgery they tried everything. Vicodin, Lortab and Percocet. Maybe because I don't take pills very often, they all made me puke. I finally took one of my wife's xanax and rolled one. I don't know if xanax are for pain relief but that did the job.
