redwings.cup
I'll put a positive spin on this. Presuming Igor signs and comes back for one more, the Wings will still line up a formidable group of centers at the start of the season. This will be a great chance for Pavel Datsyk to gain valuable experience without the pressures of playoff positioning. The Captain should come back after Xmas with strong legs and fully ready to lead the team to a hard fought Cup repeat. Yzerman to undergo knee surgery Detroit Red Wings captain Steve Yzerman will have knee surgery in early August and is expected to miss the first two months of next season. The 37-year-old center helped Detroit win the Stanley Cup despite an injured right knee. He decided not to have reconstructive surgery and instead will have a realignment next month. He's not expected to be able to play until January. Yzerman had 13 goals and 35 assists in just 52 games last season, but he led the Red Wings with 17 assists and 23 points during the playoffs... Chief Dick
Does he have a torn ACL? I can't imagine playing a sport like hockey with that injury. I had to have reconstructive surgery on my knee, and I remember the pain of trying to play before the surgery. Brutal.
Egret
The guy played on one leg during the playoffs. Gritty effort.
