A-Rod is on roughly $25 million a year. For reasons that will become clear, that's 17 million British pounds.

Enter Kaka, touted as the best soccer player on the planet, currently playing for AC Milan, who are apparently about to receive an offer of 110 million pounds ($161.7 million ) from Manchester City for the services of said Kaka.

Mr Kaka will also be paid 500,000 pounds a week, or $735,000 a week, which comes to an annual salary of.....$38.22 million) :D

A-Rod, yer a pauper.

Good post Ursa ...I am a huge fan of AC Milan and Kaka ( he is a great player ) and will miss KaKa if he leaves however Milan already has at least 3 possibly 4 players lined up that they plan to obtain with money they get for transfer .... Appears everyone wins in this one

"The Abu Dhabi billionaire is prepared to make Kaka the world’s highest-paid player

on £15million a year after tax, the equivalent of £500,000 a week gross."

Their talking about 500.000 pounds per week for a 38 week season. Workes out to about the same as A-Rod

Soccer players are paid every week of the year, not just in the season, hence it's a crapload more than A-Rod. Also, the soccer off-season is virtually non-existent once tournaments and pre-season tours are factored in.

In the UK, taxes are higher so that 15 million pounds after tax is about 26 million pounds before tax. That's as many pounds as A-Rod receives dollars.
