Big John
Engaged isn't too much different and the momentum of marriage will get you through the few speed bumps. If you've lived with your chick already, you know what you are getting into (once you come to terms with the money & in-law type issues). The real speed bump happens with kids. He has a daughter. Perchoutofwater
...and move to the country. Yep. Me, the wife, my two girls and the our semi adopted son went shooting yesterday out in our friends pasture. Nothing relieves stress like killing shooting, and spending time with the family. My 7 yo and 10 yo girls were shooting a Ruger 10/22 (my 10 you is real, real good shot ie.. better than Daddy). My wife was shooting her .38 spl S&W J frame, and I was shooting my new Kimber .45 acp and my Super Redhawk .45LC. I let my girls shoot my new pistol toward the end of the day. I was standing behind them holding their hands as they shot. My 7 year old wasn't all that impressed. My ten year old's comment was "that is awesome, can I do it again without you holding my hands." I let her fire a few more shots by her self. It was just a great time. The only negative was me and the wife got into a very small argument about the best teaching styles for enforcing gun safety with my 7 year old. She said I was too harsh, I told her that I wanted to get her attention, to make sure she doesn't make mistakes. She got over it, and we all had fun.
