IPOD troubles

Hey all -

I bought a new Ipod Nano to replace my old mini.

For some reason, no matter what I do, I can not get songs loaded onto the new Ipod. My computer reads the Ipod fine, Itunes sees it, but whenever I try to put songs on it in Itunes, it fails. When I try manually it x's out the ipod when I try to drag songs to it, when I try to auto sync it appears to copy, and once they actually appeared on my Ipod, but once plugged back into the computer were wiped out.

I'm now trying copying the Music folder from my old Ipod to my desktop and then to the Nano directly... we'll see if that works, but somehow I doubt it.

I was hoping for there to be an easy way to basically copy my old Ipod and playlists (stupidly I created them on the Ipod while in Itunes, rather than in the Itunes playlist) but I can;t seem to find a way to do that.

itunes won't let you copy from an ipod to a computer using itunes. you need to access the ipod as if it is a disk drive and then copy the stuff over.
