DMD
State of the Falcons The Falcons come off their great 2009 season that was supposed to be a rebuilding year but ended up in the playoffs. Can Michael Turner keep on keeping on? Big runner with a violent style... What will Gonzo do for Matt Ryan or to Roddy White's numbers? It came together so quickly last year, was it just a really nice schedule or the making of an NFC South powerhouse?
tazinib1
I remember the Dirty Bird year and how fast that fell apart. I'd like to see them do it again before I label them a powerhouse.
Company of Heroes
That schedule looks pretty rough.
matt770
Other than an intangible that is impossible to predict, like a sophomore slump for Ryan or key injuries, I don't see why the Falcons won't have another good year. They already had top performers at QB, WR, and RB, now you add a future HOF TE...hard to predict a sudden drop-off in production.
DMD
I'd agree but they came together faster than anyone could imagine in their wildest dreams. It would explain a lot if Ryan continues on to become another Manning/Brady/etc. . Turner was an equally pleasant surprise sort of in the vein of when Priest Holmes went from Baltimore to Kansas City though with Holmes we had seen much more. rajncajn
I don't think the Falcons have the defense to sustain. Last year they caught a lot of people by surprise, but this year teams are more familiar with their game. Combined with the tougher schedule I believe they will struggle a bit more this year. Homerism aside, I honestly don't see how they can beat out the Saints & Panthers to make a playoff repeat.
dirtdickens
One of my best friends from high school plays for the Falcons and he put on a little kid skills camp this morning. Roddy White was there with him and I explained that he helped me win a lot of money last year and I made the mistake of challenging him to a one on one. What a freak, that guy torched me so bad I may never recover. My head is still spinning, I may draft Roddy White in the 1st round. Tonight I have to use some of that money to buy drinks for everyone.
