BeeR
http://espn.go.com/blog/afcnorth/post/_/id...ty-in-cleveland What a bunch of aholes - I'd tell every one to bite me. We aren't exactly talking Chris Johnson type situation here and it's not like they are near a SB run any time soon.

loaf
• Still no sign of the five unsigned restricted free agents and kicker Phil Dawson skipping OTAs. Coach Eric Mangini reported, however, that running back Jerome Harrison joined his teammates in workouts earlier in the week, but was excused today for reasons unrelated to his contract status
dirtdickens
Hate to say it, but I finally quit the Browns. Wish them all the best as they have some of the best fans on Earth, but at some point you have to say enough is enough. That draft was horrendous and there is no plan. You can almost pick any team that is in the same situation the Browns are in and 100% guarantee that team will be better before the Browns do anything, heck some good teams will become bad and good again before the Clowns do anything. flemingd
The way things are going I doubt we see any NFL next year. There is zero chance we don't see NFL next year. There is way too much money at stake.
mrip
There is zero chance we don't see NFL next year. There is way too much money at stake. I heard some story about how the league will get paid the tv money regardless of whether games are actually played, and that on top of not having to pay the players would make the season profitable. Don't know the details though. Edit typo Edited June 16, 2010 by mrip

Don't know the details though. Which is why the players will beat their chests, cry foul, bitch and moan - and then put their tails between their legs and accept something. Yes the NFLPA hasfiled to put that TV revenue in an escrow account so the owners don't have access to it - http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5268239 - but even if they lose this the owners can wait out the players - the revenues from the TV and the players' salaries are approximately equal and the owners are going to win any battle of patience - these players have 2-6 years to maximize their earnings potential and there's no way a guy is going to sit out on the chance to make a few million bucks (Ryan freaking Fitzpatrick is slated for $3 million this year Yellow Submarine??) for the sake of solidarity. It happened in '82, it happened in '87, and it will happen now. The owners can afford to look long-term, a 28 year old scheduled to make $12 million this season cannot - he'll just end up a year older and slower and no richer.
