It could be the worst title in living memory: Final Destination 5 is now known as 5Nal Destination. We’re not making this up…

When last year's The Final Destination hit surprisingly big at the box office, Warner Bros was fairly quick to announce that it was going to keep the franchise going for another outing. In spite of the name that it gave to the fourth instalment (it never stopped Freddy Krueger, of course).

Thus, it was soon revealed to be full steam ahead, with Eric Heisserer drafted in to pen a script (he worked on the A Nightmare On Elm Street remake), and Steven Quale hired to direct. Quale's background is working in various roles on James Cameron movies, from The Abyss through to Avatar. He was second unit director on Titanic, too, and co-directed Aliens Of The Deep with Cameron.

We've always had a soft spot for the Final Destination movies, even though they kind of peaked with the gloriously fun second one. But that hasn't stopped a shudder going down our spin with the revelation of what the next movie is going to be called.

Ready for this? It's 5Nal Destination.

5Nal Destination! It doesn't make any kind of sense whatsoever. How on earth does the number ‘5' equate to the letters ‘F' and ‘I'?

Appreciating that Hollywood does like to put numbers in its titles in unconvincing ways whenever it can, we're genuinely struggling to come up with a worse example. It's probably best, if you want to see 5Nal Destination, that you book your tickets online rather than trying to work out how to say 5Nal Destination properly at the ticket window.

5Nal Destination will be released on 26 August 2011. Or, as the poster will no doubt put it, 26gust. Sigh.
