Chief Dick
Here's the project of the day. I have a 1987 Lowe fishing boat that I bought a few years ago. It came with a trolling motor that mounts on the front, so it has a foot pedal. This motor is, ICDHO, too small for the size of the boat. Not enough thrust, if you know what I mean. I also have a transom mount trolling motor I have had for years that I take to Minnesota every year. Consequently, it only gets used one week a year. And it has more thrust, you know, for the ladies. Anywhoo, my idea is this: Hook up the stronger transom motor to the front of the boat but be able to utilize the foot pedal that controls the existing smaller motor. The challenge is to hook up the transom motor to the foot pedal so the foot pedal can: a) Turn the motor on Be able to turn the motor with my foot pedal much like the existing one does. Can it be done? Should I try? I have a fresh 30 pack of Busch Light ready to go, and the Royals game doesn't start until 9pm. What say you, geniuses? Skippy
Maybe. It just sounds to hard to guess at without being there to look right at it and see what's what.

Chief Dick
I think I have it figured out. I'm just not sure if the actual motor for the motor is down in the casing near the prop, which is where I assume it is. And is the power controlled by that motor or the control. I'm guessing the motor.
Chief Dick
Oh hell. My flathead screwdriver just slipped off of a clip and punctured the inside of my left index finger. Apparently Busch Light thins blood. I honestly might need stitches.

Chief Dick
No stitches. Hooked everything up, and it worked. Taking the boat out tomorrow, so we'll see if the thrust is up to Tim Tebow standards.
