SpartyONTOUR
I am the league manager for a 14 team PPR league. I have set up the schedule so that regular season goes for 12 weeks and the playoffs for another 3 weeks so the playoffs end in Week 15. That way we can avoid starters being benched late in the season. What's the schedule in your league? Should I have the playoffs go till week 16? I just can't decide whether to include NFL week 16 or not. I can't remember if the teams who have secured playoff spots start benching their starters in Week 16. MTSuper7
All leagues I've ever been in go through week 16. It's not as common that a playoff team will have nothing to play for in week 16.

If you have three weeks of playoffs, you should have 13 weeks of regular season so all teams can play each other once. Normally week 17 is the only week to avoid. There might as well not be any fantasy football if we start eliminating more weeks than that.
Duchess Jack
I roll with a 13 game regular schedule in my leagues where every owner plays every other owner in his division twice and everybody else in the league (except one team) once. Than its the three division winners and three wildcards to playoffs (weeks 14, 15 and 16) with the first and second seeded team getting a first round bye
sportfreak
13 games works best for 10 and 14 team leagues. In 10-teamers, you have 2 Divisions and play each division team twice (8 games) and the other 5 teams once. In a 14-teamer you just play everyone once. In 12-teamers, it gets a little messier to split, unless you're ok with going with 4 divisions of 3 teams each -- in that setup you play Division twice (4 games) and the other 9 teams once. Including week 17 sucks but not having week 16 is overkill IMO. I like 2 weeks of playoffs, it's plenty unless maybe in a really big lg. cdrudge
My favorite league unfortunately no longer exists, but we played a 17 week regular season and our post season coincided with the regular post season. Post season was essentially a salary cap format with pricing determined by their performance throughout the year, and multiple teams could draft the same player as long as they were under the limit. Players on your team at the end of the season came at 1/2 price. My 3 currently leagues are all 12 or 14 teams with the regular season 14 weeks with the playoffs being weeks 15 and 16.
