Puddy
Comedian Greg Giraldo Dies By LHibbs Wed, 29 Sep 2010 22:41:07 GMT E! News reports comedian Greg Giraldo, best known for his role as judge on “Last Comic Standing,” died today in New Brunswick, NJ. Giraldo, 44, was hospitalized last weekend after accidentally overdosing on prescription pills. Jim Norton, fellow comic and friend of Giraldo, announced the news after tweeting a photo of the two with the message, "RIP Buddy." Giraldo frequented The Late Show With David Letterman and Late Night With Conan O'Brien, as well as regularly performing at the Comedy Cellar and Gotham Comedy Club in New York. Giraldo graduated from Columbia undergrad and Harvard Law School but eventually decided to stray from his roots and become a comedian. He recently appeared as a commentator on Comedy Central’s Roast of David Hasselhoff, getting laughs from the audience and guest of honor alike. The comic was public about his struggle with alcohol addiction, admitting to Howard Stern in 2005 that he was five months sober with the exception of one relapse. Giraldo leaves behind three children.

myhousekey
Crazy. Just saw him at the Improv here in Dallas over the summer. You see what Gilbert Godfried said? Earlier today, Gottfried went to his Twitter page and wrote, "If Greg Giraldo is cremated, will that be the 'Greg Giraldo Roast'?" We spoke to Gilbert about the tweet ... who told us he has problems expressing his emotions -- but noted, "Greg can't say anything about it now ... I'm not worried about him calling and complaining." millerx
one of my favorite roasters. Like him ever since the short-lived Comedy Central show "Tough crowd with Colin Quinn". he was always much smarter than the the others but never came off as pretentious.
