Hankk
Neither really. I think that its an unfortunate situtation. If the kid had a brick in his hand, she probably acted appropriately. If he didn't, probably not. In either event, the end result seems ok to me.
Perchoutofwater
I don't think I'd call her a hero, but she definitely is not a criminal. She protected herself. If more people were willing to do the same there would be far less crime than there is.
Jimmy Neutron
If her reports about harrasment and him throwing bricks at her, He's lucky it was just his shoulder.
BeeR
Of course she's not a "hero," but that doesn't take away from what she did in being right in the tiniest bit and big props to her. I'm tired of youth being used as an excuse for BS like this. If she gets so much as one day in jail or a 10 cent fine it's a joke. But that's often what our legal system is, so wouldn't surprise me in the least. More likely the kid's parents are the ones who should be locked up for failing their kids ie how to freakin behave. What's the over/under on how long it take them to sue this lady - a couple days? Wouldn't surprise me if they won too.

Mankind would not have suffered a huge loss if her aim were a little more true.
detlef
Assuming 1) they hit her with a brick and 2) They didn't back off once she pulled out her gun, then it seems pretty cut and dry. Nothing criminal at all. Good for her.
