Pac Is Not Champ
I'm praying for a huge run or TD from him so i can trade his ass next week, Nurv Tutrner hates FF for sure... fu*k this week, I just want to save my rest of the season Edited October 10, 2010 by Pac Is Not Champ

Once they're value is high they're gone.

piratesownninjas
You'll regret trading Mathews in 2-3 weeks. Tolbert showed why he isn't an every down primary ball carrier today.
ParLawGod
I'm holding onto Mathews...I really think that he'll get more involved as the season goes along.

euphy
No clue why Tolbert is even getting the ball. Mathews looks pretty good.
Favre4ever
SanDiego is primarily a passing team now and that's why they can't close games out...Eventually they'll figure out you need to run the rock with Matthews and then play action pass it but they just drop back and gun it like they did when Dan Fouts was there...Hold onto Matthews.. Chargerz
I think Norv subscribes to the RBBC theory. Keep the defense guessing and your running backs fresh by shuffling them in and out of the game. A fantasy football nightmare for sure. Yeah, I keep forgetting he never did this in the past b/c he had LT2, Gore, Emitt (though RBBC wasn't so in vogue during the early '90's). We just have to accept that Mathews is probably gonna be a 15 touch/game guy at the most, w/ minimal TD potential. I just get tired of seeing those worthless draw plays to Sproles when they're in the spread formation; wasted plays. Tolbert at the GL doesn't bug me too badly until I see that Chris Johnson had 2 one-yard TD runs week 5; don't have to be a big bruiser to be effective at the GL. Mathews is a stud and will be extremely solid going forward. This game was probably the best thing that happened to Mathews. It shows that Tolbert has a spot as a 3rd down back and a change of pace back but not the primary. Turner will also get an a$$ chewing for not controlling the clock. It should be evident that having a stud QB and throwing a milllion yards a game doesn't equal victory. A solid balance does win games so Mathews will once again be a huge part of this offense. Another example is the Denver / Baltimore game. McCalin could punch it in but Rice bumps it in like to water through a strainer. It's easy to stack the line against a big back that cause misdirection, but a smaller back that can change their direction in a fraction of a second, well, that changes the whole lines thinking.
