Dr. Sacrebleu
weird. I was listening to my ipod on shuffle when I read the news, and captain beefheart came on. The odds were 14 in 7000 of that happening. I think last time his name came up here I talked about how overrated he was (rather it was the fact that people liked te idea of having his albums rather than listening to his album) and included myself in that group. I relistened to the whole album Milk. It's pretty darn good. Still remember that Rolling Stone magazine in it's infinite wisdom listed Trout Mask Replica as one of the best albums of the decade, and a few years later one of the worst albums of the decade... There is the beauty of the Captain. He made some shiat, but he made some gold.
slambo
Was at a Zappa concert in 1975 or 1976 where Beefheart was the opener. Wasn't famailar with his stuff at the time. They were actually booed off the stage, kinda sad. RIP
