My idea deals in reality, your idea, use less stuff? That's lalaland pie in the sky dreamworld.

Stay in reality, you think I am going to wash/resuse my baby's diapers? No. You think I am going to use the same plastic water bottle 100 times? No. You think I want to drink my wine coolers out of a recycled rubber bag? No. And neither do the rest of us.

"Dealing in reality" because what needs to be done is too hard or inconvenient is exactly why this country/world is totally effed up right now.

ETA: By the way, I'm not saying that we should abandon recycling projects and/or other things you mention. Rather, that only solves some of the problem.

And, as far as single stream recycling, much of that just ends up in the landfills anyway. It just makes people feel better about themselves.

Yea, now I don't have to change 20 something dimmer switches in my house. Those florescent bulbs are terrible.

Dim the lights honey....Oh Wait......stupid government getting involved in nonsense again....Who would have thought.

The reality is the market will decide. Build a better product and it will replace the old one. Do we really need a bunch of idiots with an agenda to force this change?

For the Liberals in the house, the answer is NO.

No, I think burning my excrement filled diapers in an incinerator weans us off foreign oil, I have a very firm grasp of the big picture.

I might suggest you get yourself toilet trained, although that may not help wean us off foriegn oil being the downside.

so they say. but they say that about the CFLs too, and I replace those every bit as much I did the incandescents.

I've heard other people say the same thing, yet I still have my CFLs from 5+ years ago going strong and using them every day. Different brands maybe...

What's gonna happen when we all start plugging our cars into our electrical outlets? Are they going to allow us to have light bulbs at all?

If you've got enough time to continually get banned from the Huddle and slink back under aliases, I think you've got time to refill a water bottle.

Not an alias

Thank you!

That was way out from left field.

Just for the record, I recently signed up and purchased a two year membership at this site. While I am a staunch conservative, more of the George Will type, my reason for joining was fantasy football, a game I have been playing for 28 years.

While I am no fan of Liberalism, it is nothing personal to members of this board that think big government is the solution for the country or the solution to improve their collective lot in life.

No, Ice1 is coherent and on message, even if I do think it's entirely wrong. The Oklahoman sheep slapper, OTOH, just jumps in with any irrelevant drivel he can dredge up, adding nothing and subtracting much.

And

Thank you; I have no idea who I was even compared to but it doesn't sound good at all.
