XFlash
$95 million, $65 million guaranteed and paid through first 3 season, so $20 million a year. WOW! Hopefully a clause for child behavior tantrums. EDIT: Heard it on ESPN TV show. EDIT: correction $65 million guaranteed. Finn5033
Insane, not worth it. I’m a Vikings fan so if you compare it to Digg’s deal I gues it makes sense. But I thought what we gave Diggs was insane too

Dirty Sanchez
He's probably the most marketable player in the league. He's one of the top young receivers in the history of the game, as far as the numbers he's put up. Fans come to see him and buy merchandise with his name and face on it because he is THE must see talent in the largest market. The Giants know this. It's a huge contract, but when you add it all up, he's worth it to this franchise.

I mean he’s making starting QB money

It's worth it to the franchise in regards to making money retaining a player with his popularity, but will be a disservice to the fans when they continue their current tradition of mediocrity because they can't pay to keep the other decent players on their roster. That's the way this business works. If you hit big time on draft picks, you won't be able to pay them all what they want. I'm sure Landon Collins will be the first big casualty of Beckham's contract. Manning's contract will be off the books in 2 years. Highly doubtful he gets an extension. So, then they'll have money to pay Barkley if he becomes one of the top RB's in the league. With Beckham and Barkley, they just need a game manager at the QB position. Hopefully one of these mid round QB draft picks pans out when Eli is gone so the QB cap hit won't be huge. Davis Webb has looked good other than that 1st preseason game where he was too amped up and overthrowing the receivers. Shurmur really likes him and he's a so called QB guru.

If our opinions don't matter, then what's the point of this? oh right, for you, it's just to be contrary. Does that help you be less contrary in real life? if so, contrary on! I'm here to discuss things relevant to fantasy football, what does your opinion on OBJ's deal and how you'd handle it have to do with that? This notion that many fans have that these are horrible deals is laughable, since most never complain about the millions paid to other performers whose material they consume (music, TV, film, etc.)
