Working the bench players

I'm new to FF and I have a question about moving my bench players. Here's an example:

 

-It's Week 1, all my starters are playing Sunday at the earliest 

-One of my bench players is playing this Thursday...can I move him up to a starter position (say, swap one of my Sunday-playing starter RB with my bench Thursday-playing RB temporarily) to potentially get some FF points on Thursday and then move him back down to bench after the Thursday game so the original starter can then get points for his Sunday game?

 

My gut tells me no, but maybe I'm missing something.

No, once the Thursday game starts, all Thursday players statuses lock for the week.

No fantasy site worth using would allow that. As Big John says the player status locks when their gam starts, sometimes a few minutes before the actual game start (e.g. 1PM Sunday vs. the 1:05 kickoff).

Players on bye (at least in my league on CBS) are the one odd situation, they have no game and as such you could drop them during Sunday games to add another player whose game hasn't started. I was looking into that when I had a potential to make a late roster move due to injuries.
