theeohiostate
Coming this August, the Big 10 Network. The first of any kind, the Big 10 once again proves to be the leader in college sports. Avid college sports fans like myself have to be excited about the Big10 announcing the Big10 network. The Big10 network's first affiliate will be DirecTV. DirecTV will make the Big10 Network available to its Total Choice Subscribers which spans 15.4 million households. The Big Ten Network will carry many of the games and events previously available only through syndication, according to bigten.cstv.com these will include * 35-plus football games, with each school having at least two games aired (at least one of which will be a conference game); * At least 105 regular-season men's basketball games; * At least 55 regular-season women's basketball games; * Big Ten championships and tournaments; * 170 Olympic sporting events; and, * Coverage from the conference's vast library of historic sporting events, including bowl games. In addition to the above, each school in the Big10 conference will be able to provide 60 hours of its own content annually. This is very exciting news for college sports fans like myself. I'm sure some of the other big time conferences like the SEC, PAC-10 and Big12 will follow suit and try to strike a deal to syndicate their own networks. The Big10 has always had superior television packages compared to the other conferences because of the number of households in Big10 country. Now with their own network, the Big10 is poised to garner even more attention for its institutions.

It's tough to hear you way up here on top of the mountain.

Gonkis
First the NFL, then the Big Ten... when is Dorey gonna launch Huddle TV. Maybe we can get a college forum arm wrestling tournament?
detlef
LSU plays their games on the national networks. Exactly. What's all this about the SEC following suit? They already have a network, it's called CBS.

Somehow I think some would run to the hills when Sarge plastered just one of you Oprahers over the top.

Ah, so now you're speaking of yourself in the 3rd person. I guess that would make you a WR or European soccer player?
Rockerbraves
Somehow I think some would run to the hills when Sarge plastered just one of you Oprahers over the top. My pure SEC type quickness and speed would dominate any arm wrestler from the corn fed states.

SaintsFanUnfortunately
I'm sure copycat leagues like the SEC will jump on the Big 10's jock as expected. We're not copying the Big Ten's insistent resistance to a playoff system. The current Big Ten president fits the conference to a "T".
